Two Weeks to Go, and a Note about Defaulting
So, time is ticking down, with ten assignments and two treats (yay! treats!) already posted. Hopefully everyone has at least a solid idea of what they're going to write or draw. Many a lovely bit of artwork or story been done in two weeks, and lots of people are nearly done or have their work with beta anyway.
HOWEVER, if you are looking at the time ahead and feeling like it's not going to work out, it might be a good time to think about defaulting. Everyone knows their own abilities, and if you think you can do it, that's fine. But if it doesn't look like RL is going to stop kicking your ass, or if your muse hasn't so much sent you a postcard from her Grand Tour of Parts Unknown, then there's no shame in deciding you can't finish and defaulting. The earlier you default, the more time someone else will have to pick up the pinch hit and complete something for your recipient.
On that note, the no-penalty default date is coming up. If you default on or before 8 October 2014, you can participate next year with no problems, though you still might not get fic or art if the person assigned to you also defaults. If you default on the 9th or later, you will not be able to participate next year.
