This was my thought as well. The books being so far ahead also leaves potential for spoilers... I'm going to feel really bad if I write something set in asoiaf for someone who only watches got and it gives away a major plot point. If they do get rolled together I would definitely have requesters clarify which they are asking for (or if they're okay with both).
