So, time is ticking down, with nine works in and two treats (yay! treats!). Hopefully everyone has at least a solid idea of what they're going to write. Many a good story has been written in two weeks, and lots of people are nearly done or have their story with beta anyway.
HOWEVER, if you are looking at the time ahead and feeling like it's not going to work out, it might be a good time to think about defaulting. Everyone knows their own abilities, and if you think you can do it, that's fine. But if it doesn't look like RL is going to stop kicking your ass, or if your muse hasn't so much sent you a postcard from her Grand Tour of Parts Unknown, then there's no shame in deciding you can't finish and defaulting. The earlier you default, the more time someone else will have to pick up the pinch hit and complete.
On that note, there's a pinch hit out. Please go here to check it out. I realise it's not overburdened with optional details, but the recipient has posted a yuletide letter every year, which they say covers likes and dislikes.
You can also join the pinch hit group.
If your story is all done, and you're still looking for a beta, consider finding someone on the beta list. There's an awful lot of fandoms represented. Please check the "What you won't read" column before contacting someone.
Good luck to all.
