Femslashex 2020 Schedule and Rules
We’re excited to announce the 2020 round will be starting early next month! This year we'll be keeping a similar schedule, but with slightly shorter nominations and sign-ups.

5-13 September: Nomination Period
16-23 September: Signups open
26 September: Assignments will be sent out by or before this date
7 November: Fanworks due
14 November: Archive goes live on or after this date (as soon as everyone has a gift)
21 November: Creators revealed

All deadline times this year will again be 9pm EDT/EST.

There are a few small changes we will be making this round that we'd like to flag for feedback. Most importantly, we will no longer be taking asks or answering questions via Tumblr. If anyone needs to contact us, email and Dreamwidth comments will remain the best way to reach us.

We found handling extensions and defaults much easier last round, and will be maintaining a stricter extension policy going forward. Extension requests will still not be automatically granted, will require a copy of a partial draft, and usually won't exceed a maximum of 24 hours. Past defaults, missed extensions, and any previously posted placeholder works may be considered by mods when deciding.

Currently our rules specify that all submissions must be femslash. We are considering altering this slightly to require that all works must be specifically tagged F/F during posting. This is intended as a clarification in line with our 2019 tweaks around Do Not Wants and vid accessibility or canon pronouns/gender requests, and that all assignments including mixed-medium works must meet the minimum requirements for at least one medium. We do not intend to change the character eligibility requirements, and using additional categories would be allowed. You can view our full 2019 Rules and FAQ here.

If there are any other questions, suggestions, or concerns which participants would like to raise before nominations start, please drop us a comment or email the mods at femslashexmod@gmail.com. We won’t be finalising the rules and any changes for the upcoming round until shortly before nominations begin.
