Nominations Issues

I'm going to keep this post active for problems with nominations. If yours hasn't been approved after a day or so, please check here to see if I've listed why.

As a general note, if you haven't listed the fandoms behind the name of both of your crossover characters, it will not be approved until they're amended. The should look like "Nebula (MCU)/Seven of Nine (Star Trek: Voy)", or something similar.
(The category name is "crossovers - Fandom": plural and with a space either side of the dash, but I can fix that part in edits.)

If you've included a canonically male character in your pairing or poly grouping, it will be rejected.

Whoever is nominating relationships with ampersands (&) please resubmit with slashes (/). This is not a friendship fest.

I've moved whoever nominated Arrow (tv series) into Arrow & The Flash (CW)

I moved X-Men - All Media Types into Marvel 616 (the pairings were all comics combinations. If you'd like me to do something else, let me know).

Dragon Age is now Dragon Age - All Media Types. That fandom was already accepted before the Inquisition and Origins requests were added, and at this point it'd be a lot of trouble to sort them out. If you would like the mod to do that, it can happen, however.

I moved The Guardians of the Galaxy (movie) into Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Combined SG-1 and Atlantis into Stargate - All Series.

The Percy Jackson fandoms sort of got rolled into one. If you'd like me to sort them out again, let me know, and also which relationships go in which book.

Person who nominated Loki never did tell me which Loki, so I picked one. I can change it if needed.

If you nominated "Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon | Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon," please let me know if you're happy with that category as is, or would like to specify a version (Crystal, the original manga, the '90s anime, etc). "Sailor Moon (Live Action TV)" is already its own category.

Changed "Mortal Instruments - Cassandra Clare" to "Shadowhunter Chronicles - Cassandra Clare," as some characters only appeared in the second series.

As we already had Fire Emblem: Awakening as an accepted tag, I split Fire Emblem Series into component games and assigned pairings accordingly. If I got them wrong, please let me know.

Could someone more familiar with the GARO franchise check those nominations and make sure they look okay?

I nommed Inquisition and I'm happy for it to stay All Media Types (I'm never quite sure whether an exchange is going to prefer one format or the other).

veleda_k: America Chavez from Marvel comics (Comics: America Chavez)

Given the current state of Marvel, there are multiple versions of one character running around. A-Force's Loki seems, at this point, firmly female identified. Agent of Asgard Loki is genderfluid, or at least gives that impression. That Loki normally stays male, but has switched back and forth.

Other should feel free to chime in if they have different thoughts.

"Haruka/Nagi | May/Winona" looks like Pokemon.

FYI, I nominated "Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood & Manga" but if there are other nominations it might make sense to move it to all media types? Most of my noms contained B&M only characters, though.

Also I put in Twilight as 'All Media Types' b/c I'm not aware of a division between book and movie fic.

While Nominating....

While nominating for my fifth fandom, upon selecting a relationship another relationship box popped up, even though there are supposed to only be five and those five were already there. I also noticed that some of them don't have five/ten/nine, and instead have like eleven, so that might be a recurring issue.

Question: I'd like to nominate Julie d'Aubigny and one of her lovers (specifically, the one she burned a convent down with) but the woman's name doesn't seem to be recorded anywhere I can find it. Should I just put "Julie d'Aubigny/Nun," or . . . ?

"Ruby/Sapphire" and "Ruby/Sapphire (Steven Universe)" are both listed under Steven Universe.

There seem to be a few canonically male characters having popped up in the Agent Carter tagset... I assume they shouldn't have!

(Anonymous) 2015-08-11 07:24 am (UTC)(link)
Ugh fail, forget it, I was in a tagset for another exchange, everything's fiiiine, sorry! -_-

Both Yara Greyjoy/Ygritte and Asha Greyjoy/Ygritte are listed for Game of Thrones. Yara and Asha are the same person. She's called Asha in the books and Yara on the TV show (there's no one named Asha on the show), but she's the same person. Maybe the nominator meant Osha? But she's a totally different character and not a Greyjoy.

Can we edit our nominations up until the closing on the 20th? I swear I'm forgetting something I'm going to figure out later but want to put through what I have in mind now to help others know what slots are covered.

Ah, just a note that under "Kamen Rider Series", "Ogawa Eri/Yui Kanzaki" should be "Kanzaki Yui/Ogawa Eri".

Original work: ghost/human and original work: ghost/living girl are basically dupes, as the person who nominated ghost/human I'm comfortable with mine being deleted.

There's some tag migration going on: "Aino Minako/Hino Rei" and "Mizuno Ami/Tsukino Usagi" are showing up under both "Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon | Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon" (anime/manga) and "Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon | Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon (Live Action TV)."

All the characters appear in both, so it's probably a case of a pairing popping up in all fandoms they're synced to, regardless of where they were originally nominated for.

*ponders*

How to fix that depends on which of the two versions is the one that the user intended to represent.

There's some tag migration going on in Carmilla. "Carmilla/Laura" is showing up under both "Carmilla (Web Series)" and "Carmilla - J. Sheridan le Fanu". The canonical for the former series is "Laura Hollis/Carmilla Karnstein", which is already in the tagset. The canonical for the latter is "Carmilla | Mircalla Countess Karnstein/Laura".

(I thought I'd moved "Carmilla/Laura" into "Carmilla - All Media Types" since it's just a metatag, but I guess I never got around to that...)

Also, under Gravity Falls, Reverse Mable Pines/Reverse Pacifica Northwest is a fan AU. They aren't canon characters. (Also Mabel is spelled wrong and the names aren't in alphabetical order.)

And I don't know how picky this is, but under X-Men Movies, Wanda Maximoff isn't in the X-Men movies, so perhaps that pairing would go better under crossover.

I was just looking through the nominations when I spotted these two:

Mortal Instruments Series - Cassandra Clare (4)

Sophie Collins/Tessa Gray => this should be moved to the fandom "Infernal Devices Series - Cassandra Clare". Reason being that Sophie Collins doesn't appear in TMI (given that she'd be 150, I don't think she's even alive anymore...).

Tessa Gray/Cecily Herondale => ditto for this one.

The other two relationships are fine.

I initially nominated Hellblazer expecting to just put characters from the original series but I've changed my mind and I want to add some from the new series (Constantine: The Hellblazer). There's already a Hellblazer: AMT canonical, could you please switch it to that one? Thank you.

I noticed that there's two slightly-differently-worded tags for "Best Song Ever - Gabrielle Aplin."

One, "Best Song Ever - Gabrielle Aplin (Song)" is empty. The other one is: "The Best Song Ever - Gabrielle Aplin." This one has been used on AO3 before, but I noticed that the actual title of the song is "Best Song Ever" with no "the." Here's a link to the actual song. The empty tag is how the song was submitted to last year's tag set.

I'm not sure what should be done about that, but I wanted to let you know. Thank you. :)

It looks like there's two fandom tags for Neko Zamurai: "猫侍 | Neko Zamurai | Cat Samurai" and "Neko Zamurai (2014)". (One of the characters nominated under the latter, Kikuno, doesn't actually appear in the 2014 movie -- actually, I just glanced at the AsianWiki page for it and it looks like Oshichi and Wakana don't, either.)
