Final Nominations Clarifications

The queue is clear now except for the following issues. If your nominations are listed below please drop us a comment within 48 hours or we will make any remaining adjustments as listed below prior to sign-ups opening.

Fandoms that require clarification:

• Marvel Comics - Marvel Secret Wars Battleworlds and Marvel Action: Spider-Man have been nominated, and we want to confirm whether they should be approved as separate universes or combined with another fandom tag. We think Battlewords might be a separate universe based on the AO3 Marvel Comics tagging structure but we aren't familiar with either and would love to hear from any comics fans about where they belong, otherwise we will approve them as is


• Tomb Raider - pairings have been moved as needed to fit the following split: "Tomb Raider - Original Timeline", "Tomb Raider - Legend Timeline", "Tomb Raider - 2013 Timeline", or "Tomb Raider (Movie 2018)". If you nominated under an umbrella fandom tag, please double check your pairings are now listed in the correct timeline


• The Walking Dead - Telltale Video Game has been approved as a separate fandom, please let us know if this is incorrect and should be combined


• 拝啓、兄さん様 | Haikei Niisan-sama | Dear Brother (Manga) - pairings have been approved under Oniisama E as the fandom appeared to be incorrect for the pairings, but if this is wrong the nominator is welcome to link us to their nominations page and drop us a comment to clarify

Pairings that require clarification:

• Ships with a variation of 'any/all characters' have been rejected. If you wanted specific characters, drop us a link to your nominations page and provide us with the correct ship tag fully written out with individual character names ready to be copied into the tagset and we can enter those for you.


• Crossovers
  
  • pairings nominated under a single fandom have been rejected. If you nominated your crossovers incorrectly under a single fandom by mistake alongside your non-crossover ships and you still have an empty fandom spot in your nominations, drop us a link to your nomination page and we will enter those crossover pairings manually for you.
  
  
  • the following pairings will be approved under the assumption that any version of the character is welcome and requesters/offerers will have to take their chances with optional details if we haven't heard from the nominator with specifics for Carrie, Wonder Woman, or Tomb Raider: Jennifer Honey (Matilda)/Susan Snell (Carrie), and Lara Croft/Diana (Wonder Woman)
  
  
  • if anyone has a similar 'any' style crossover pairing already approved that they've belatedly realised they want to make more specific, drop us a comment and a link to your nominations page and we will alter the tag for you. Or if anyone has spotted an unspecified version of a crossover ship in the tagset from another nominator which they would like to request/offer but with a specific character version, drop us a comment before sign-ups open and we will add extra crossover ships with the specific versions to aid with matching


• Dark Crystal - we have rejected Onica/Princess Tavra as a duplicate of Onica/Tavra, but if there are indeed two Tavra's please drop us a comment


• Popular (TV) - Brooke Davis/Sam McCall has been nominated under Popular (but appears to actually be a crossover for One Tree Hill/General Hospital.) We think the Popular characters Brooke McQueen/Sam McPherson were most likely intended and will approve as such if we haven't heard from the nominator


• Wrestling - is "Professional Wrestling" the same as "World Wrestling Entertainment", and if so should "Nurse Ratchet/Buggy Nova" be combined with WWE or should the WWE pairings be moved to Professional Wrestling? We will combine all pairings under Professional Wrestling as an umbrella fandom if we haven't heard from the nominator or other wrestling fans.


• Worst Witch - All Media Types - this is the incorrect fandom under our shared universe rules, please comment with a link to your nominations page and let us know which Worst Witch you prefer otherwise the pairings of Mildred/Enid and Mildred/Ethel will be combined under Worst Witch 2017

As always, if you notice anything odd, duplicates, or your nominations have not appeared in the tagset as expected, please let us know! And thank you to everyone who has pointed out duplicates to us already on the last post, we'll start making those corrections and do any other final clean up in the next day or so.

Professional Wrestling is not the same fandom as World Wrestling Entertainment. Nurse Ratchet/Buggy Nova and the story of their relationship comes from a monthly wrestling show called GLAM, which is a subsidiary of wrestling promotion (company) called Hoodslam, neither of which have a canonical tag that I could find, so I just nominated them under the umbrella of Professional Wrestling, which is where miscellaneous wrestling fic seems to go.

World Wrestling Entertainment is a different wrestling promotion than Hoodslam, albeit the largest one.

Ah, good to know, thank you! If I remember correctly WWE appeared to be a subset of Professional Wrestling in AO3s tagset, so if anyone shows up finding that confusing or wanting the Professional Wrestling tag tweaked we might do that. If so, do you have any preferences eg. GLAM or Hoodslam? We definitely don't have to use a canonical tag, if something else is more accurate for what you want to request.

If WWE nominators want or are happy to use Professional Wrestling as an shared universe tag that includes both yours and their ships, does that work for you - or should we be separating all wrestling out by promotional companies or something similar going forward?

I've read most of the Battleworlds comics and they're definitely separate universes -- it's remnants of different realities, separated according to the Marvel numbering, that have been basically all patched together. I feel like they could all fit under 'Marvel Secret Wars Battleworlds', but I didn't read all of the Battleworlds titles and can't remember if there are instances of multiple versions of a single character in the separate worlds so it might need discussion.

Battleworlds nominations can all be one universe, since people from the different battleworlds joined up at the end. There's no contradictory versions within that universe.

Marvel Action: Spider-Man

It is a distinct alternate universe from 616. In this universe Peter Parker, Gwen Stacy, and Miles Morales are teen Spider-People together and all native to the same universe instead of being native to 616, 65 and Ultimate like in the main books. I do not know if it is distinct from the other Marvel Action titles, but all of them are published by IDW, not Marvel.

Thanks for clarifying! We don't have any other Action nominations that I've noticed this year, so I think we're good to keep the tag as-is for Spider-Man this round. Under Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magika | Puella Magi Madoka Magica are the ships Ai/Futaba Sana (Magia Record), Ayano Rika/Tomoe Mami (Magia Record), and Tokiwa Nanaka/Tomoe Mami (Magia Record), but those ships are from Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story, which is currently empty of tags.

"Morga Eirsdottir/Nadia Satrinava" and "Morga Eirsdottir/Nadia Satrivana" (the first one is correct)

Thank you for helping us find duplicates! I've removed the incorrectly spelled tag and the two duplicates that lack last names for Nadia and Nahara, so you should be good to go with only one of each pairing now.
