I love this universe and everybody in it! (Well, nearly everybody. Even the ones I don't like I find quite interesting.)
I'm happy with any form - the diary or epistolary that most of canon happens in, or the third person narrated of recent snippets. (I've no preference as to whether you use the full or the truncated versions of names.) I also enjoy fics where modern-day academics or media types are trying to work out what on earth was going on with Lady Bexbury's set.
Similarly, for art, I'd be delighted with anything from a pastiche of one of M. de Clérault's portraits to a satirical cartoon to a simple narrative scene.
Specific DNW for all relevant pairings: I do not consider relationships between cousins of any degree to be incest - nor, so far as I can see, do any of the relevant characters, particularly given the setting of the series - and I would very much prefer not to see this mentioned as an assumed barrier to a relationship.

Things that I love about the canon include: the skating detail; the way that the characters are shown as being committed to their sport; the extended meditations on the concept of 'love'; the way it plays with gender; the matter-of-fact presentation of a world without homophobia. Anything that reflects any of those would be great. Art could include: international landmarks; skating costumes (and the contrast between practice gear and performance); the symbolic landscapes that the characters occasionally enter (for example, Guang-hong's gangster storyline, or the mountain top that JJ imagines the GPF to be).

This was my first femslash fandom - in fact, the first fandom I ever wrote fic in - and one of my favourite books. I find the class tensions very interesting. There's Valentine, the post-Revolution aristocrat who's willing to give up the whole lot to become a nun or to marry a shipping merchant's son; there's Eugénie, the nouveau-riche intellectual; there's Louise, who can be alone with Eugénie at home but can't be seen with her at the opera. And of course the potential relationships get very interesting indeed...

What I love about Doctor Who is that it is just so big that you resign yourself to never having the whole of it in your head. And so there's space for both sweeping epics across unimaginable dimensions, and tiny domestic moments too. Take your pick!
For art, I like a good bit of Victoriana, so that might work for Vastra/Jenny - but then so might a bright bold comic strip. For the Isobel ships, you might want to include her photography in some way. I enjoy the animated parts of The Invasion as well as the live action ones, so if you wanted to go with that style I'd be fine with that. Or whatever else works, really.

I'm happy with any form - the diary or epistolary that most of canon happens in, or the third person narrated of recent snippets. (I've no preference as to whether you use the full or the truncated versions of names.) I also enjoy fics where modern-day academics or media types are trying to work out what on earth was going on with Lady Bexbury's set.
Similarly, for art, I'd be delighted with anything from a pastiche of one of M. de Clérault's portraits to a satirical cartoon to a simple narrative scene.
Specific DNW for all relevant pairings: I do not consider relationships between cousins of any degree to be incest - nor, so far as I can see, do any of the relevant characters, particularly given the setting of the series - and I would very much prefer not to see this mentioned as an assumed barrier to a relationship.

Anything that reflects any of those would be great. Art could include: international landmarks; skating costumes (and the contrast between practice gear and performance); the symbolic landscapes that the characters occasionally enter (for example, Guang-hong's gangster storyline, or the mountain top that JJ imagines the GPF to be).

There's Valentine, the post-Revolution aristocrat who's willing to give up the whole lot to become a nun or to marry a shipping merchant's son; there's Eugénie, the nouveau-riche intellectual; there's Louise, who can be alone with Eugénie at home but can't be seen with her at the opera. And of course the potential relationships get very interesting indeed...

For art, I like a good bit of Victoriana, so that might work for Vastra/Jenny - but then so might a bright bold comic strip. For the Isobel ships, you might want to include her photography in some way. I enjoy the animated parts of The Invasion as well as the live action ones, so if you wanted to go with that style I'd be fine with that. Or whatever else works, really.
