2014: Nomination Discussions (and other details)
Nominations begin in a week, which is far, but it does mean we have more time to discuss them. Post what you're thinking about nominating in comments, discuss eligibility, offer up free spaces.

I have a couple of questions for people in the relevant fandoms:
1. Last year, some Tolkien fans indicated that they'd prefer to be split up into Silmarillion - J.R.R. Tolkien, The Hobbit (All Media Types), and The Lord of the Rings (All Media Types). Is that okay?
2. MCU technically includes Agents of SHIELD, do the AoS people want to be included with MCU? Not being included would prevent crossover pairings such as May/Romanov.
3. I'm planning to do comics by universe again, as that seemed to work last year.
4. There's no way that I know of to merge Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel: The Series without including the rest of Jossverse. Sorry. (Unless someone's fixed that since last year?)
5. The Star Trek tv shows can't be nominated as one either, not without including the new movies. Again, sorry, as this does cut down on crossover pairings, which are fun.
6. There is no six!
7. I can't think of a seven, but do let me know how you'd like your fandom nominated, especially things with multiple parts and/or adaptations.

Nominations will open at 5pm Pacific Daylight Time (all events will take place at 5pm PDT).

Last year, some lovely people made banners. Feel free to use them about the place for advertising purposes, should it strike your fancy. Or make more banners and post them here!

I haven't heard of some of those characters but I'll go check them out. ^_^ So sure, I'll add them!

And good call on Meiko! I wanted to nominate her with someone but I wasn't sure who.

Miriam is the overall third Vocaloid to be made and was the one released before Meiko. There are only a few songs of them together, but I really like one of their duets.

Haku is a fan character that has been adopted by Crypton Future Media. So even though she doesn't have any software she is in the video games, has figures and even official plushies.

Mayu is a yandere Vocaloid by EXIT TUNES. IA is by 1st Place.

There are a good fifty Vocaloids when you count all of them, but sadly only the ones by Crypton Future Media really get attention.

I just listened to that duet! It was really good! x3

I'm still new to Vocaloid stuff. o.o I had no idea there were so many characters!

Luckily, it is a very fluid fandom so you don't have to memorize everyone. The Vocaloid wiki and TV Tropes can be good places to find info on different Vocaloids and songs.

Sadly the Vocaloud wiki doesn't like my ipod but I hadn't thought of checking TV Tropes. Thank you for pointing it out (and introducing me to new Vocaloids! I'm kind of in love with Ia right now...).
