Half our writing period has gone away, but half remains. Which I suppose is just another version of the old pessimist/optimist ship war? However that comes out, assignments are due in three weeks and about nine hours, that is 18 October 1014, by 5pm PDT.

Treats!

I've opened a summary of all the requests, for your treating pleasure. Or just for your looky loo pleasure, which is equally valid.

To see the requests, go here. I've sorted them by fandom, but you can also sort them by requester or by date.

To leave a treat, follow these simple steps.

1. Finish your main assignment. (Unless you're not signed up, and just want to do a treat, in which case skip to Step Two).


2. Find a request you like, read the letter if there is one.


3. Draw or write your treat.


4. Press the "Post to collection" button on the main page of the challenge. You can also try posting a work as normal and making sure Post to Collections/Challenges is set to "femslashex_2014" but that doesn't always work, and clicking the button on the main page does.


5. Make sure to enter your treat recipient's name under "Gift this work to" (don't tick any of the "Does this fulfil a challenge assignment" options you may find; that would be bad).


6. Fill in the rest of the boxes as normal.


7. Enjoy the satisfaction of having treated someone.


8. Chew nails until archive opens, and your recipient comments.

For now, please only post art treats that are at least 500px wide and you would consider polished, and written treats 1,000 words or longer, also polished. There'll be a chance to post shorter fic and sketches of any size after I assign pinch hits on the 18th/19th (I'll let you know!).

The collection will remain open even after reveals, so you have from now until sign ups next year to post a treat.

A Note on Pinch Hits

We've had three defaults so far, which has been more than by this time last year, but still isn't concerning. If you're interested in seeing what they are, consider signing up for the Pinch Hit list.

Up until now, I've been doing pinch hits as a random selection from everyone who applies in a set period. This works well in early days, but I've noticed that by this far in, usually only one person is applying anyway, and we'd rather prioritise assigning the recipient to someone.

As half our writing time has gone away, we will now be assigning pinch hits as first come, first assigned. If you miss a pinch hit that you think you'd like, consider writing or drawing that person a treat.
