Would series wherein different installments have different casts be nominated as a whole or by installment? My investment in the answer to this question is primarily because of Pretty Cure, Fire Emblem, and Rune Factory, if you want specifics.

We've generally depended on the feelings of the fans. For example, Angel and Buffy are counted as one series, but the Lord of the Rings is separate from the Hobbit and the Sil. Which way do you want it?

ETA: It tends to be that if the instalments share a lot of their cast, it gets nominated as one, and if they're mostly separate with perhaps the odd crossover character, they're nominated apart.

That sounds reasonable enough to me. Pretty Cure and Rune Factory may have discrete installments, but they're also small fandoms that probably won't get a lot of requests and offers, so it might not be a good idea to let people fill up their sign ups with all the different seasons/games.
