Sell Your Fandom / Pairing!
Sign-ups are open, and that means this is a good opportunity to talk about your favorite fandoms and the pairings you ship for them. Feel free to comment about them here, or take to Tumblr and use the femslashex tag.

This is also a good opportunity to add your name to the pinch hit list. As before, if you join the group, you will receive e-mails when we are looking for pinch hits. You are under no obligation to make a claim, but, if you choose to do so, all you have to do is reply to the e-mail containing the desired pinch hit. You can also reply to it on the group page. This is a great way to help the community, and, speaking as a veteran pinch hitter, there are times when it can save the day for a challenge (and give you that warm 'n' fuzzy feeling of having stepped up to the plate when it was needed).

alien_writings: I Love Fantasy[personal profile] alien_writings on August 25th, 2015 01:33 am (UTC)
Best Song Ever - Gabrielle Aplin (Song): I love this cover version. One of my favorite things is that the cover singer didn’t change the pronouns or names to make it less queer. It gets automatic points for that because I am just over cover versions of songs that change the pronouns to basically “no homo” the originals. This song is also just sweet yet nostalgic and wistful, and I can’t help hoping that the couple referred to can have a happy ending somehow. :)

I’m Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How to Dance with You - Kate Nash (Song): Here’s another neat queer cover of a song. Again, I like that the singer didn’t change the words around to make it straight. That’s kind of a pet peeve, lol. It’s a fun song with frustration and angst, where I hope the girl in question does get rid of the boyfriend who can’t even dance. ;)

Starships - Lindsey Stirling and Megan Nicole (Music Video): Yep, it’s another cover that I like way better than the original, though this time it’s the video that has the story potential. (I prefer the song to the original too, though.) I couldn’t resist the idea of a pair of adorable and clueless alien ladies lost on Earth. Also, I must admit I would borrow their outfits and not for Halloween. I have no excuse for that because I’m from Earth, but I would. ^_^
