Nominations clarifications #1
We've now cleared the queue and have a few fandoms that need clarification.

All franchise fandoms
Please check the shared fandom list before nominating! In particular we have seen Legends of Tomorrow, Agent Carter, Frozen (Disney), Doctor Who and Star Trek titles being incorrectly nominated so far. We avoid approving incorrectly nominated fandoms, please make sure you've used the correct title for your franchise to get your nominations approved.

Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon | Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon
We have accidentally approved this without the (Manga/Crystal) or (Live Action TV) version specified. Can the nominator(s) confirm which they intended? Otherwise we will assume Manga/Crystal and move them accordingly.

Crossovers
We are approving ships with broad fandom titles without clarification this round. If you have nominated something like Wonder Woman, Lord of the Rings, etc. and haven't stated a specific movie/book/title, you will be rolling the dice on which version of the character your recipient/creator prefers. If there's any issues with tags already approved that you'd prefer to be more specific after all, just drop us a comment.

DC's Arrowverse
Maggie Sawyer/Astra, and Alex Danvers/Astra - does the nominator(s) intend General Astra or Astra Logue (Legends of Tomorrow)? If we don’t hear back, we’ll assume General Astra.

Zari Tomaz | Zari Tarazi - the canonical tags include both versions of Zari, how would Arrowverse fans like her handled? Each Zari seems quite distinct and there is potentially a good case for nominating them separately.

Persona Series
We have nominations for Persona Series, and for Persona 5. Is this a shared universe we should be combining?

Renault CLIO Ad: 30 Years in the Making
Gemma and Seza were nominated as separate characters. Individual characters are not allowed so we have approved one nomination for Gemma/Seza. If this isn’t what the nominator intended, please drop us a comment.

She-Ra and the Princesses of Power
She-Ra Entity/Champion Selected to be She-Ra - are these original or canon characters, and if canon are these the best names?

Don't forget to read the rules before you start nominating, and let us know if anything looks odd! Nominations will remain open until 9pm EDT, 13 September, 2020.

That sounds like very minimal sharing if no characters crossover. I'm fairly sure we normally kept them separate in past rounds, so I'm happy to stick with that unless someone pops in to argue for combining.

There's also a side game, Persona Q2, that includes the characters from Persona 3, 4, and 5. It is a shared universe (3 and 4 also cross over in P4 Arena, P4 Arena Ultimax, and the first PQ), and I could see how someone who wanted to nominate, say, Ann/Yukari (from P5 and P3, respectively) would seek to put it under Persona Series rather than Crossovers. But that's a relatively rare case, I think. I'd personally say keep them separated.

Ah, okay, that definitely sounds more like it meets our requirement for a shared universe if characters from different games do (occasionally) meet in some parts of canon. I'll leave the question open for now if other people want to weigh in, though.

There's minimal crossover but they are all set in the same universe. Well, 3, 4 and 5 are in the same universe, and the related games eg persona q. There's some time/fate/gods shenanigans to do with philemon around the first two (three, technically, persona 1, persona 2 innocent sin, persona 2 eternal punishment) games from what I understand (I've only played a little of them). There are cameo events linking p4 to p3 and p5 to p4. PQ and PQ2 are set in pocket dimension type settings and never referenced in the main series, and Persona 4 arena is set in the future and contains characters from p3 and p4 as a continuation of the main game's plots.

Personally, I think it would be reasonable to group them as "persona series" but people might feel strongly about being able to request/offer them separately for minimum number of fandoms/maximum number of ships, etc.

I agree - also the fighting games and stage plays, and to a lesser degree, the dancing games all feature overlap between 3, 4, and 5.

I can see the case for *not* including 5 properly yet as the only real interaction has been support characters from the other stories in 5's dancing game, but as the events of Persona 4 Arena hinge on characters and concepts extrapolated from 3, it seems like it would be churlish to exclude 5 based on the fact that a full on crossover hasn't happened yet.

Thank you everyone for weighing in! It sounds like it is indeed a shared universe, so we will combine all tags under the Persona Series umbrella tag going forward.
