Quick reminders that binding request details (including Do Not Wants, vid accessibility requirements, or canon gender identities/pronouns), will only be enforced by the mods if they are listed in your sign-up! Fandoms can be duplicated in your sign-up, but don't forget to check you still have the minimum of three unique fandoms from the tagset in both your requests and your offers. Please wait until after you have completed/unlocked your letter post before commenting here.

You can include additional pairings in your letter if you have more than ten pairings you like in a fandom. You can also request f/f/m poly ships in your prompts as long as they aren't the only prompts for the f/f pairing. Please take care to make sure any such prompts are clearly optional and include more information about the pairings that are actually in your sign up so your creator doesn't feel bad about being unable to write a pairing if they matched with you on something else.

Please also be respectful of other participants if they have different preferences to you!

Requests

• You may request 3-10 fandoms from the tagset.


• For each request, you may choose 1-3 mediums (Fanart, Fanfic, and/or Fanvid)


• For each fandom, you may request 1-10 relationships from the tagset. If you choose to request any relationship, double-check the tagset and make certain that you're willing to receive any relationship listed in that fandom.


• You will match on at least one fandom, relationship, and medium.


• Remember that providing additional information can help your creator give you a gift you'll love, but that most details in the description section or letters will be considered optional. Please refer to the rules for more information if you're unsure about what may or may not be an optional detail!

Offers

• You may offer 3-10 fandoms from the tagset.


• For each offer, you may choose 1-3 mediums (Fanart, Fanfic, and/or Fanvid)


• For each fandom, you may offer 1-10 pairings from the tagset. If you choose to offer any relationship, double-check the tagset and make certain that you're willing to create for any relationship listed in that fandom.

Don't forget...

• Check the Uncategorised and the No Media sections of the tag set for extra fandoms, crossovers, and original work tags.


• Occasionally relationships you want might not appear in the drop-down menu despite already being in the tagset for that fandom. If that happens, please copy and paste the relationship you want from the tagset, taking care to ensure that you've copied it exactly.


• You may edit your sign up as much as you like between now and the close of sign-ups.


• Please read over your sign-up one last time before they close. After all, what if you ticked the wrong box?


• If you write a Dear Creator letter, you can share them at our letters post!

Marvel
Could the nominators of ships under the fandom "Marvel" please clarify which of our Marvel fandoms they meant these ships to fall under? If no one replies, the ships will be rejected.

The following fandoms have been combined:

• Private Practice and Grey’s Anatomy have even combined under ‘Grey’s Anatomy’. In future rounds, we’ll have this listed in the Shared Universe list under a broader fandom title.
  
• The L word 2004 and Generation Q have been approved under ‘The L Word (2004 and 2019)’

The Adventures of Tom Bombadil
Can Tolkien fans comment on how this should (or shouldn’t) be combined as part of the Hobbit books or with one of the other existing Tolkien tags?

Arrowverse
There are two nominations ("Astra/Alex Danvers" and "Astra/Cat Danvers") for Astra that don’t specify either General Astra or Astra Logue. If we don’t hear back, we will approve as General Astra.

There were several ships containing Zari nominated using the canonical tags, which include both canonical Zaris ("Sara Lance/Ava Sharpe/Zari Tomaz | Zari Tarazi (Arrowverse)", "Sara Lance/Zari Tomaz | Zari Tarazi (Arrowverse)"). Could the nominators clarify which version of Zari they wanted?

Original Work
We are unclear on the intended scope of the following tag: "lesbian who dates men/her best friend who calls her on being stupid though it doesn't stop her". F/M and F/F/M etc. requests may only be included as optional details in this exchange. If the nominator wishes to clarify or reword the tag please let us know, otherwise we will reject.

EDIT: We also need clarification on "Succubus/Incubus" - typically, incubuses are male. Does the nominator have a specified gender for the incubus? We've removed the tag for now but are happy to add back in.

Due to conflicts on the mod end, we're going to be extending nominations by 24 hours. They'll now close on Thursday, September 23 at 9 pm Eastern time (countdown.

A note on Character/Reader ships - they're eligible for the exchange, but please specify gender of the reader in your nomination. We've been changing any nominated */Reader ships to */Female Reader.

The following fandom tags do not match the shared universe rules. These will not be approved until the fandoms are corrected, so please double check the nomination guidelines for the shared universe list and alter your nominations:

We will be approving all crossover nominations this year without clarifying non-specific franchise fandoms. Please be aware that if you use a broad fandom tag like Character (Tomb Raider) or Character (Marvel), any optional details you give on which parts of the franchise you’d like to see in your gift will remain entirely optional for your creator. If anyone would like to make a broad approved nomination more specific, drop us a comment.

Baby-Sitters Club & California Diaries
The California Diaries appears to be a spinoff series of The Baby-Sitters Club. Do the two take place in the same universe, or should they be kept as separate fandoms?

Critical Role
Exandria Unlimited (Webseries) has been nominated separately, but it takes place in the same universe as Critical Role. Does the nominator/s have a reason why they should be kept separate? Otherwise we'll be combining them.

Doctor Who
Thirteenth Doctor/Clara Oswald was rejected when Thirteenth Doctor/Clara Oswin Oswald was approved. If the nominator of the first was intending to nominate a specific Clara fragment, drop us a comment.

The DoctorDonna has been approved as a separate character to Donna Noble. We dropped the ‘Donna Noble component of the character tag to avoid confusion with Donna Noble (the original all human version), but if this is unclear or confusing to anyone please let us know.

Fire Emblem Awakening
We have approved My Unit | Reflet | Robin/Sallya | Tharja, and rejected Female Robin/Tharja as a duplicate. If we’ve misunderstood and these are actually different characters, please let us know.

Naruto
Emporio Ivanakov is listed on the wiki as a man, and the mods are both unfamiliar with the canon. Could the nominator or anyone else clarify that this character is female or genderqueer?

We are starting nominations a little early today. If you haven't already please read the full 2021 rules and faq before you start nominating.

In short:

• You may nominate up to ten fandoms with up to ten relationships in each.


• All nominated characters must be female or genderqueer characters you'd be comfortable writing about in a femslash challenge


• Please nominate crossovers as under the fandom: Crossovers - Fandom, and list the characters with their fandom after the character name (Example: Pepper Potts (MCU)/Seven of Nine (Star Trek: Voyager). Crossovers submitted under a single fandom or submitted without fandom details after each name won't be approved until they've been corrected.


• [Canonical Character]/Original Female Character is allowed. [Canonical Character]/Any is not allowed. The Character(s) version of OFC tags will no longer be used and any canonical nominations using this format will be approved without the plural. If nominating poly ships with original characters, please indicate the specific number of characters you would like included, eg. [Canonical Character]/Original Female Character/Original Female Character.


• [Canonical Character]/[Unnamed Character] is allowed in cases where they were most likely a female or genderqueer character, but we don't know exactly who they were, for example: Galadriel/Legolas' Mother in The Hobbit fandom.


• There will be one category for Original Work, in which you may nominate things such as Princess/Handmaiden, Mermaid/Ship Captain, or Starship Captain/Chief Engineer.


• You may wish to drop down into the comments below to see what fandoms and pairings others are nominating, and how to nominate large/complicated fandoms. We will be continuing to wrangle most shared universe fandoms in the same manner as previous years, please check the list below before nominating.

Fandoms should be nominated according to shared universes. This means fandoms with common settings and characters or unique shared backstories and timelines, should be grouped together. Different versions of characters/timelines or unique adaptions should be nominated separately. Please note that:

• All Media Type fandom tags may or may not be eligible, depending on whether AMT encompasses multiple versions of a character or multiple timelines.


• RPF, Band, and other ‘real world’ characters should be grouped under the broadest fandom title that makes sense, trying to minimise the number of fandoms an individual character could belong to while also avoiding the fandom becoming unwieldy.


• Many franchises are already in the shared universe list. Please check it thoroughly and nominate accordingly. If you are nominating a related franchise title which is not listed as an exception but has its own unique separate universe, please comment before nominating.


• Do not be afraid to use or suggest non-canonical fandom tags, especially when an appropriate shared universe tag does not already exist. The mods can help you select one if you are unsure what to use for your nominations.

The mods aren’t familiar with Disney+. Could we please ask fans to wait before nominating and first drop into the comments below to discuss the best way to group (or not) the new Marvel shows with Marvel Cinematic Universe, or any other Disney+ shared universe issues which might arise.

If you believe the best fandom tag to combine a shared universe under has changed or there are other new developments in your fandom we should be aware of that might affect the shared universe list, please let us know! Or if you spot any doubles, misfiled fandoms, random pairings popping up under other fandoms or pairings that don't qualify, comment here. We're going to do our best to wrangle as we go like usual.
