Pocket Monsters SPECIAL | Pokemon Adventures is a manga separate to the games, though closer to them in mechanics than the anime. It should definitely be kept separate.

Just an FYI - the AO3 canonical umbrella tag for DC movies was changed at some point from DC Cinematic Universe to DC Extended Universe. So I used the latter for my nominations (but I can switch it back to "Cinematic" if that would be better for some reason).

Have you noticed if the fandom tag has sorted better in tagset categories for other exchanges with Extended because of the change? If it's similar either way, we'll stick with Cinematic as there's quite likely tags buried in the queue under that name and we'll have to start moving them around to match Extended.

Descendants takes place a generation after the events of the movies. All of the badguys were resurrected and then imprisoned on an island where they wouldn't have access to their powers. All the kingdoms united under a single country called the United States of Aurodon, under the rulership of the Beast and Belle. Magic isn't really used anymore and the technology is that of modern Earth, regardless of what time period and part of world the originals were set in. Almost everybody, good and evil, has a kid.

I did not nominate it, but (Super) Danganronpa 2 is in the same continuity as the original Danganronpa, the two Danganronpa 3 anime, and the Ultra Despair Girls spin-off game (but not the Danganronpa V3 game, which is kinda-sorta a separate continuity). ... IMO, you can safely use "All Media Types" for this one unless Danganronpa V3 got nominated in there somewhere.

Okay, good to know, thanks! It seems borderline too close 'any character' with some room for confusion/inaccuracy during matching so I'm going to change them to Original Female Ghosts. If you want, you can add individual canon ghosts using either their names if their living identities were referenced, or brief identifying descriptions like Ghost in the Striped Dress or whatever seems most appropriate. If you've already used up all your relationship tag spots under Ghostbusters, feel free to drop a list here and I can add them for you.

Ducktales nom - I'd be really confused if it was combined with any other canon since it's its own thing.

Not the nominator, but I would second that Ducktales (2017) is a separate thing, as another Ducktales fan.

There is a ton of intense debate online about the degree to which Ducktales crosses over with various other Disney properties, but I think it's generally agreed that the Duckverse (in which Ducktales takes place) in general is its own thing, separate from other Disney properties. And the 2017 Ducktales reboot in particular is a different thing from earlier incarnations of the Duckverse, including the original Ducktales. Major characters have different backstories and different character traits and character designs, and some characters only occur in one version of the show.

For example: Webby underwent a total personality reboot and character redesign, with a lot of new interests and skills her original never had. Lena, her best friend, only exists in the 2017 universe. Mrs. Beakley wasn't (as far as I recall) a former secret agent in the original universe, and I think her spy nemesis, Black Heron, is also original to the 2017 universe... and so on.

I'm not sure if you're cleaning up the tagset as you go or waiting until after nominations have closed, but in case it's the former: "Cordelia Naismith Vokosigan/Alys Vorpatril" looks to be appearing twice under Vorkosigan Saga - Lois McMaster Bujold!

I nominated all of the Fallen London pairings + some of the Sunless Sea ones currently in the tagset.

Both games share some elements of the setting, and a few characters appear in both, but gameplay is significantly different, such that there are fans who are pretty invested in one game that don’t play the other at all. I would lean toward leaving them separate, unless the other nominator(s) are strongly in favor of combining.

I'm only a casual player so I wanted to check, but that tallies with what I thought I remembered. Our grounds for combination is whether there's a shared universe with potential for crossover pairings, or if there are canon crossover of characters, which it sounds like there is. So we'll go ahead and combine it under an umbrella. Thanks for weighing in!

Everything under Fate/Zero is also under Fate/stay night - All Media Types. Fate/Zero is a prequel to Fate/stay night. My guess is that Irisviel von Einzbern/Arturia Pendragon | Saber was intended under Fate/Zero and Arturia Pendragon/Tohsaka Rin | Saber/Tohsaka Rin, Matou Sakura/Arturia Pendragon | Saber, and Matou Sakura/Tohsaka Rin were intended under Fate/stay night.

Under Monster High, Blondie Lockes is an Ever After High character. C. A, Cupid is a character in both and explicitly is mentioned transferring schools.

Other Issues

You have Neon Genesis Evangelion and Rebuild of Evangelion | Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition. Rebuild is an alternate universe movie series that diverges from the timeline of the original anime. It isn't uncommon for people to historically nominate characters and ships for either under regular Neon Genesis Evangelion. But since you have them separate, Makinami Mari Illustrious/Shikinami Asuka Langley makes more sense under Rebuild. Mari only exists in Rebuild and Asuka's last name is Shikinami only in the Rebuild movies.

For Fate/Zero and Fate/stay night, if one is a prequel to the other is that something we should be combining as opposed to fixing wandering tags? Ditto with Ever After and Monster High, if there's canonic character crossover. It sounds like they meet our shared universe rule, but I don't want to make assumptions when I'm not familiar with either. I'll also add both to the next clarification post to make sure any other people familiar with the fandoms can weigh in if necessary.

I'm always fretting about finalizing my nominations list, can I edit it after I've submitted it (but before the deadline)?

The short answer is that we wouldn't recommend it. The long answer is yes, but only to an extent. You can edit any nomination up until it's approved. But we approve constantly throughout the nomination period, and AO3 doesn't tell us who nominated what so we couldn't try and hold off specifically on your nominations (and it would be very easy to sweep them up by accident even if we were trying not to, honestly), and if you nominate anything already approved eg. same fandom as nominations already in the tagset, it will be automatically approved the second you submit your nominations. Then even if the pairings aren't approved yet, you're locked into that fandom. So editing is theoretically possible, but if you're relying on being able to change things I would wait to submit them if you can.

Heads up that there's a duplicate in Star Wars - All Media Types: Amilyn Holdo/Leia Organa and Leia Organa/Amilyn Holdo!

The Worst Witch - All Media Types seems to be exclusively nominations for the Worst Witch TV show which features several characters who only exist in the 1998-2001 TV show and it's spin off and have different back stories to the books.
