Make sure to include your AO3 username, fandoms and pairings as well as the letter link.

Please wait until after you have completed/unlocked your letter post, if need be, before commenting here.

You can include additional pairings in your letter if you have more than ten pairings you like in a fandom. You can also request f/f/m poly ships in your prompts as long as they aren't the only prompts for the f/f pairing. Please take care to make sure any such prompts are clearly optional and include more information about the pairings that are actually in your sign up so your creator doesn't feel bad about being unable to write a pairing if they matched with you on something else.

Please also be respectful of other participants if they have different preferences in fic and requests to you.

Go over the rules one more time before starting your sign up. A quick reminder of the important points:

Requests

• You may request three to ten fandoms from the list of nominated fandoms.


• For each request, do not forget that you can request Fanart, Fanfiction, and/or Fanvid.


• For each fandom you must request one to ten pairings from the list of nominated pairings. If you choose to request any pairing, double-check the list of nominated pairings for that fandom and make certain that any of the pairings listed are all right by you.


• Your match will be based on fandom, pairing, and format (i.e. fic or art or vid)


• While the description section is optional, we strongly suggest you include Do Not Wants. Any DNWs/triggers included in the description will be enforced by the mods, however all other details will be optional for your writer or artist. You can also include a link to a Dear Creator letter if you would like to provide more information.

Offers

• You may offer three to ten fandoms from the list of nominated fandoms.


• Each fandom you offer must have one to ten pairings from the list of nominated pairings. If you choose to offer any pairing, double-check the list of nominated pairings for that fandom and make certain that any of the pairings listed are all right by you.


• Again, as for requests, you can offer Fanart, Fanfiction, and/or Fanvid.

Don't forget...

• Check the Uncategorised and the No Media sections of the tag set for extra fandoms, crossovers, and original work tags. If you'd like to offer crossovers and would prefer to read a list of pairings rather than try to read the tagset directly, keep an eye on the community and a spreadsheet will be posted soon.


• Occasionally, after you select a fandom, pairings you want might not appear in the drop-down menu despite already being in the tag set. If that happens, please copy and paste the pairing you want from the tag set, but remember that you need to get it exactly the same.


• You may edit your sign up as much as you like between now and the close of sign-ups.


• Please read over your sign-ups one last time before they close. After all, what if you ticked the wrong box?


• If you write a Dear Creator letter, you can share them at our letters post!


• Your assignment will need to be completed and posted by 6PM EDT on October 6. Please consider carefully whether you will be able to commit to that deadline before signing up.

 Nominations are now closed! We'll be cleaning up the tagset over the next few days, and signups will open on August 11. Please comment with any duplicate tags, incorrect fandom associations, etc that you see! (If you commented on the last post, we've seen all the comments and will reply once the issues mentioned are fixed).

There are a few final clarifications.

Tolkien:

• Bill Potts (Doctor Who)/Éowyn (LOTR) - did the nominator have the book or the movie canon in mind? If we don't hear from the nominator, we will approve as is allowing for either book or movie Eowyn requests/offers

• There are several noms for Hogwarts Mystery characters under the book series fandom tag. We'll be approving them into this fandom tag unless any other participants have a strong preference for keeping them separate

• We have both the novel and the TV series in the tagset. Are these distinct enough to be left as separate fandoms, or should they be combined?

We're approaching the final 24 hours of nominations! Nominations will close tomorrow, 8 August 2018, at 6PM EDT


Tolkien specific approvals

• All The Silmarillion and other histories of Middle-Earth - J. R. R. Tolkien relationships have been approved, and should be correct as the tag didn't change.


• All Lord of the Rings relationships have been approved as The Lord of the Rings & The Hobbit - J. R. R. Tolkien nominations. Relationships where all characters have a movie version have been duplicated to Jackson movies, if anyone spots that we missed one please let us know.


• There were a variety of other fandom tags that allowed us to identify movie requests, and they have been approved under Middle Earth - Peter Jackson Movies along with any duplicates. Again, please let us know if something looks incorrect.


• We have moved a few crossover relationships, but there may be others we have missed. If something looks out of place, or a nominator specifically wants versions of the characters from different fandom tags (Silmarillion/LotR and Hobbit Books/Jackson movies), please let us know


• Because we are approaching the end of nominations and not all nominators may be online during the next day, relationships will be duplicated where required. They will only be removed from their current tagset if one or more of the characters did not appear in the applicable part of canon.


• Can the nominators of the following let us know which fandom tags they wanted:

• Fate/ We currently intend to combine Fate/Zero as part of Fate/stay night, but we will leave it open for discussion until the end of nominations.

Pairings that may require clarification:

• DC Animated. Courtney Whitmore/Kara Zor-El has been changed to Courtney/Kara In-Zee, as we've been told Kara Zor-El doesn't exist in DCAU. If this is incorrect or the nominator intended a crossover with a Kara Zor-El from a different universe, please drop us a comment


• MCU/Crossover. Brunnhilde | Valkyrie/Jessica Jones came in under MCU, so we are assuming Netflix Jessica was intended. That pairing already exists in the crossover tagset, so if you want a different Jessica or Valkyrie please either let us know or update your nomination with clearer fandom indicators. Otherwise we will decline tomorrow as a duplicate.

We have gotten the queue under control! There are a small handful (approximately five) fandoms stuck behind outstanding issues, but most of the straggling combined fandoms that were nominated incorrectly (eg. Thor instead of MCU, Supergirl instead of Arrowverse) have been corrected. If you were still wanting to check the tagset before entering your nominations, now is a good time to do so.

If anyone isn't the nominator but wants to weigh in on the below, please feel free! For issues that were also listed on the previous post, we will begin making best guesses in 24 hours to clear space in the queue.


Fandoms that may (still) require clarification or combination:

• Hannibal. We've had a nomination for All Media Types. Are we correct in our assumption that Hannibal (TV) is separate and different from the other Hannibal universe(s), or should we combine under AMT? If we separate, what fandom tag should be used for Bedelia Du Maurier/Clarice Starling (or would it be a crossover between different versions of Hannibal?)


• Fate/zero. Is this a shared universe prequel to Fate/stay night that should be combined under All Media Types? There is ongoing discussion here that you can join.


• The Worst Witch. We have changed the fandom from All Media Types to Worst Witch (1998 TV), and moved the pairings already approved accordingly, based on feedback that the characters and backstory are different. If you're the nominator and disagree or want them under a different Worst Witch please let us know! If anyone wants to nominate other forms of Worst Witch, please drop us a comment explaining whether it's a shared universe or a separate version so we know which fandom tag best applies.


• Tolkien. The current likely new split will be: The Silmarillion and other histories of Middle-Earth - J. R. R. Tolkien, The Lord of the Rings & The Hobbit - J. R. R. Tolkien, and Middle Earth - Peter Jackson Movies. This will be the last call for input if anyone else wishes to jump into the discussion, otherwise we will begin approving under the above fandom tags in 24 hours.


• Neon Genesis Evangelion . Makinami Mari Illustrious/Shikinami Asuka Langley has been moved to Rebuild for the moment. It has been suggested that we combine all Neon Genesis, however. Please pop into the comments below to discuss!

Pairings that may (still) require clarification:

• Fallout, Desdemona/Glory. Most Fallout nominations are coming under individual titles. Can nominator(s) for the fandom weigh in on whether it's a shared universe, or do we need to assign this pairing (currently under all games) to a specific title? If the latter, which title does it belong to?


• Fire Emblem, Degel | Kjelle/Serena | Severa. Most Fire Emblem nominations are also under individual titles. Ditto the question, do we need to combine or do we just need to know where to assign this?


• ASOIAF/Game of Thrones. If anyone is missing pairings under either, please check the list on the last post and let us know.


• Crossover. Can the nominators for Lara Croft/Diana (Wonder Woman), Aya | Amunet (Assassin's Creed)/Cleopatra VII of Egypt, and Trixie Belden/Nancy Drew, please clarify which Diana or Cleopatra or Nancy you intended, otherwise you'll be chancing matching on any version of those characters.


• MCU/Crossover. Brunnhilde | Valkyrie/Jessica Jones came in under MCU, so we are assuming Netflix Jessica was intended. That pairing already exists in the crossover tagset, so if you want a different Jessica or Valkyrie please either let us know or update your nomination with clearer fandom indicators. Otherwise we will decline as a duplicate.


• Marvel (Comics). Can the nominator of Carol Danvers/Jessica Drew or Kate Bishop/America Chavez please update their fandom tag or comment to tell us which Marvel Comics title they want. (If the nominator doesn't show, possible title options that may be intended would be very welcome input from any comics fans!)


• Sailor Moon: can the nominator of Chibiusa/Tomoe Hotaru please confirm which fandom tag they wanted it under (Anime or Crystal/Manga)?

Additions/Changes to fandom combination rules:

• Disney. Nominations should be made under Descendents, DuckTales 2017, Maleficent (2014), or Disney - All Media Types. If non-2017 DuckTales fans wish to discuss splitting from All Media Types, please drop us a comment or head here


• Fallen London | Echo Bazaar. Sunless Seas and Sunless Skies should be nominated as part of Fallen London.


• Fantastic Beasts. We combined with the canonical umbrella tag Harry Potter - J. K. Rowling, drop us a comment if you wish to discuss it.


• Castlevania. We have used the umbrella series tag for now, drop us a comment if you wish to discuss it or that's incorrect.


• Dangan. Combine all nominations under Dangan Ronpa - All Media Types, including V3.

Please double check the list of combined fandoms in the last nominations post before nominating large fandoms and franchises that may be combined! Some things may be approved and moved to the umbrella fandom to make space in the queue, but we will largely avoid approving incorrect tags for now wherever we can so we can wrangle correct nominations faster. 

Particular fandoms we've noticed issues with so far, though others may be buried in the queue: 

• Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow instead of Arrowverse (CW TV)
• Black Panther, Thor, and Agents of SHIELD instead of Marvel Cinematic Universe
• Wonder Woman instead of DC Cinematic Universe
• Marvel (Comics) instead of specific Marvel titles
• Sarah Jane Adventures instead of Doctor Who.

Please update your noms with the correct fandom tag if they are still unapproved and on the combined list!


Fandoms that may require clarification or combination:

• Pocket Monsters SPECIAL | Pokemon Adventures: is this different to the Pokemon Main Games tag we've seen before, or would a combined tag be better?
• The Runaways (TV): should this be combined with MCU or Marvel Netflix, or left stand-alone?
• Disney Descendents: does the live action diverge from the rest of Disney enough to stand-alone, or should it be combined under AMT?
• DuckTales 2017: again, stand-alone or AMT?
• Tolkien: we have been discussing changing the fandom tags to split book and movie canon, but most likely to combine in different ways if we make changes, and would love more input from other nominators
• Sunless Sea, Fallen London: should an umbrella fandom be used?
• Star Trek: Discovery is to be nominated as part of Star Trek: Classic Timeline (All Series). All Mirror characters should be nominated under Classic.
• Sailor Moon combinations have been changed slightly. Crystal/Manga is combined, 90s anime and live action are separate. If you wish to nominate another part of Sailor Moon, please drop a comment before nominating so we can discuss the most appropriate split/combination and fandom tag
• Dangan Rompa. We have a nomination for Super Dangan Ronpa 2, and also All Media Types. Can these nominations be combined or is Super a separate fandom?

Pairings that may require clarification:

• ASOIAF/Game of Thrones - can the nominator(s) of the following pairings confirm if they were meant to be TV or book requests/check their pairing is still available in the correct fandom? We had some wandering, and we think they were intended as ASOIAF but we want to double check.

• Sailor Moon: can the nominator of Chibiusa/Tomoe Hotaru please confirm which fandom they wanted?
• Crossover: Joan Jett/Kristen Stewart. What are the best RPF fandom groupings to assign to each half of this pairing?
• Crossover/Xena: Aya | Amunet (Assassin's Creed)/Cleopatra VII of Egypt. This has popped up under Xena, we assume as a crossover intended to include Xena's Cleopatra. Can the nominator please confirm that, or if they meant the historical or another version of Cleopatra?
• Crossovers: Trixie Belden/Nancy Drew. Did the nominator intend the book Nancy Drew or another version?

• Tolkien fandoms will be split into The Silmarillion – J.R.R. Tolkein; The Hobbit (All Media Types), and The Lord of the Rings (All Media Types)
• All of the old-continuity Star Treks together under "Star Trek: Classic Timeline (All Series)," AOS under "Star Trek: Alternate Original Series (Movies)‎"
• Stargate will be grouped together under "Stargate - All Series"
• Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel: The Series and assorted spinoffs will go together under "Buffy the Vampire Slayer & Related Fandoms"
• All variations of Sailor Moon will be nominated separately
• All Pretty Cure series will be nominated together
• All Rune Factory series will be nominated together
• FF X and FF X-2 will be nominated as "Final Fantasy X & Final Fantasy X-2"
• All of Dragon Age goes together under "Dragon Age - All Media Types"

Welcome to our sixth annual femslash exchange!

This year we will be allowing up to 10 fandoms per sign-up, and also reducing the minimum number of requests/offers from 4 down to 3. We hope this reduction will help participants who primarily create in the mega fandoms which are combined in the tagset, and encourage anyone offering the minimum or who may be concerned that their offers are matchable to keep an eye on requests (which will be visible again this year) during sign-up.

We have also removed the request that treats below the minimum word count for assignments only be posted close to reveals, and have added vids as an allowed medium for matching.

Other than these changes, the rules are very similar to past years. Please give them a quick read even if you've signed up before.

This years exchange is also going ahead with two mods this year, as we say a fond farewell to samuraiter who is departing the mod team to focus on other commitments. samuraiter has been an invaluable helping hand behind the scenes with muccamukk, and then with getting withinadream and myself up to speed last year. Thank you for everything!

 We'll be starting a new round soon! The schedule is still being finalized, but it will be similar to last year's (and won't conflict with the Trick or Treat Exchange).

We have a few questions for participants, detailed below.

Vids

This year, participants can offer and request vids as well as fic and art. A few questions for vidders, so we can add to our rules and FAQ:

• Is a 60-second minimum a good length requirement for vids, or do you have other suggestions?
• Artists can add signatures to their work and host on non-anon sites during the anon period. Would you like a similar rule for vidders?
• Do you have any suggestions as to what makes a good vid prompt that we can add to our FAQ?

Crossover Ships

Last year, the crossover ships section of the tagset got rather unwieldy and hard to browse. This year, we intend to make a public spreadsheet of crossover ships sorted by fandoms of the characters in them. Would this be helpful to you, or is there another way you'd prefer crossover ships be handled?

Creators have been revealed! Stay tuned in the next week or so for a discussion post (what you liked about the exchange, what you'd like for us to do differently, etc), and the requirements for unbanning oneself from future rounds.

 There are some works showing up as Unrevealed in the collection. I've been told I can fix that on the mod end by unapproving and reapproving your fic/art. If your gift, or your work, is showing up as unrevealed, comment below with your username (and title of the work, if you're the gifter and not the giftee), and I'll see what I can do! Comments are screened, so only mods will be able to see them.
